Flying Club News

In January 2026 The District of Kitimat applied for and was successful in their application to the BC Air Access Program Grant to purchase a tractor and attachments, which will help maintain the safety and condition of the Kitimat Air Park. However, the BCAAP Grant will only cover 70% of the equipment cost rather than the anticipated 90 to 95%. The District of Kitimat has offered $25,000 towards the purchase, the Flying Club will also contribute $10,000. The Kitimat Flying Club is seeking to secure the additional funds to make the purchase.

Successful grant applications are helping us enhance services and facilities. These developments directly support emergency services, commercial aviation, and general aviation, reinforcing the airpark's vital role in the region for everyone from local businesses to potential members / volunteers.
